Francesco Zago " New essay on David Foster Wallace"

In addition to his work as a musician, Francesco Zago is a fine essayist and translator. Of particular note is his essay titled "Stralci di rotoli da un futuro prossimo" (Excerpts from scrolls from the near future), published in Quaderni d'altri tempi and dedicated to the American writer David Foster Wallace.

XXI secolo. Opere scelte (21st Century. Selected Works) is the first book conceived and produced by the magazine Quaderni d'Altri Tempi and published by the Italian Institute for the Future. The volume, edited by Gennaro Fucile and Roberto Paura, was created to mark the magazine's 20th anniversary online.
XXI secolo. Opere scelte consists of twenty observations on twenty narratives identified as significant of our time and destined to endure.
It is a survey of heterogeneous cultural goods that sketches some glimpses of the current imagination, analysing their aesthetic value and historical/sociological significance.
